Several years ago, I met this person who I will describe as….effervescent. Seriously- she is like fizzy, sparkly soda pop. Her cheeks must ache from smiling so much. Jennaleigh first asked me to shoot her engagement portraits and that was fun, but when she also asked me to shoot her wedding to E (quiet, smiley and an excellent musician), at the National Mississippi River Aquarium & Museum, I was all in. I couldn’t help but catch their contagious excitement.
A whirlwind romance swept these two off their feet and planted them on the beautiful grounds of the Inn at Irish Hollow in Galena, IL. Jennifer and Jesse met at a friend’s wedding and knew they were meant to be together forever. Jennifer told me they planned their entire wedding during a super long car trip shortly after meeting each other. They decided on beautiful Galena and the Inn at Irish Hollow was recommended to them by a friend. They knew it was the perfect place- beautiful views, adorable cottages filled with lovely vintage furnishings. The breakfast parlor takes you back about 150 years. There is an old iron bridge spanning a creek that makes for a great small wedding location.
